Quick answer

Every social platform wants its own image size: Instagram portrait is 4:5 (1080×1350), Stories and Reels run 9:16, X link images are 16:9 (1600×900), YouTube thumbnails 1280×720 — cropping one visual for each platform by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. This tool ships a curated preset library (with a verification date shown; refreshed as platforms change), cover-crops your image to each target ratio with a position slider for the overflow, and overlays a center safe-area guide in the preview (platform UI often covers ~10% of the edges). Multi-select sizes and export them all as one ZIP. Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

About social sizes

Pros
  • Curated 2026 preset library — no more size hunting
  • Multi-select batch ZIP: one image, every platform
  • Safe-area guide keeps key content clear of platform UI
Notes
  • Platforms change specs occasionally — check the verification date shown in the tool
  • Cover cropping trims the overflow; fine-tune the position per size when composition matters
  • The safe area is a general guide (center 80%); exact overlays vary by platform
FAQ

Social Media Resizer FAQ

Presets follow current official platform specs and carry a verification date (shown in the tool). Platforms do change specs over time (Instagram’s shift toward 4:5, for example) — we refresh the library; when in doubt, the platform’s latest announcement wins.

Yes. The image cover-fills the target ratio, and a position slider appears for the overflowing direction — drag it to keep the part you want, per size.

The dashed box marks roughly the center 80% — avatars, titles and action bars often cover the edges, so keep key text and subjects inside it. The guide is preview-only and never appears in exports.

No. Cropping, scaling and ZIP packing all happen locally in your browser — images never touch a server.
